Shawnnell Brown earns Miss Black Georgia USA title and will represent the peach state in the national Miss Black USA pageant
The search for Miss Black Georgia USA 2011 has ended and a new queen emerges. Shawnnell T. Brown, an Atlanta resident, has been crowned Miss Black Georgia USA 2011. This beauty queen has brains, brilliance and heart and proves beauty queens are more than just a pretty face. Her platform is “Increasing Financial Literacy in the Urban Community”. She has already contacted the City Council of Atlanta to put together a Financial Literacy week which she hopes will help individuals manage their money better and avoid the financial follies that can damage their credit and sometimes ruin their lives.
Shawnnell will work across the state of Georgia promoting her platform and hoping to increase the awareness of this very important issue. This Hampton University graduate has a degree is Public Relations and English Arts and is preparing to apply to a J.D/MBA program. Ms. Brown is a proud member of Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA .
Shawnnell will go on to compete in the Miss Black USA pageant next August and represent the state of Georgia.
