Amanda Patterson, President of the Miss High School America Pageant Organization, announced today the continuing partnership between the Miss High School America Organization and People to People Ambassador Programs, the leader in global educational travel experiences.
The Miss High School America Pageant will award a full-tuition travel scholarship to the new 2014 Miss High School America on behalf of People to People Ambassador Programs. With this scholarship, the winner will have the opportunity to travel on one of the following amazing winter break programs offered by People to People: Holiday Magic in London, Mediterranean Holiday: Barcelona to Rome, Service and Spirit in India, or Mystical Mountains and Incan Adventures in Peru.
The 2013 Miss High School America winner, Annie Jorgensen from Wisconsin, traveled with People to People Ambassador Programs to Europe on a life-changing journey through Spain, France, and Italy.
“My Mediterranean Holiday with People to People was an unforgettable experience,” said Jorgensen. “I loved being able to travel to 5 different countries with new friends from all over. I learned so much and cherished every memory. This opportunity to travel with People to People has opened up my eyes to the world, and I am excited to continue to travel and become a global citizen.”
People to People has traveled more than 500,000 students like Jorgensen to all seven continents, with a mission to bridge cultural and political borders through education and exchange. People to People offers students travel programs in both summer and winter.
“We are proud to be involved with the Miss High School America pageant with its strong core values of supporting young people in their personal and professional development,” says People to People Ambassador Programs CEO Tony Dombrowik. “The global workplace and economy demand young people have a level of cultural awareness and global aptitude that cannot be taught in a classroom environment. We are happy to offer this opportunity to the MHSA community.”
This marks the second year that the Miss High School America Organization will offer a global travel opportunity to its national titleholder.
“We are so honored to partner with such a prestigious and honorable organization as People to People Ambassador Programs. This will be an opportunity like no other for our new Miss High School America to expand her cultural awareness and develop as a global citizen,” Amanda Patterson said.
