Miss America Collection Unveiling At Holtzman Gallery
The Miss America Organization and the Holtzman Gallery announced today the unveiling of the “Miss America Collection” this week in honor of the 95th anniversary of the Miss America Competition.
The Miss America Collection consists of 82 portraits of former Miss Americas beginning with Margaret Gorman, Miss America 1921 and leading up to Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011. The portrait paintings were commissioned by the Miss America Organization throughout the years. Plans to commission the remaining portrait paintings are currently underway.
“For the first time in history, the Miss America Collection will be on display outside of our national office,” said Josh Randle, COO of the Miss America Organization. “The Holtzman Gallery features prestigious art from around the globe, and we are very excited to exhibit the Collection in such an elegant and prominent space.”
The Collection features an array of styles and impressions from various artists and is prominently displayed by year in the Gallery’s loggia.
“We are delighted to exhibit the Miss America Collection,” said David Holtzman, Founder and President of the Holtzman Gallery. “The Collection exudes the history and significance of the Miss America Pageant, and we are honored to offer this cultural experience to the public.”
The Miss America Collection will be unveiled on Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 pm ET. Nearly 40 former Miss Americas will be in attendance to celebrate the exhibition’s unveiling. Admission is free and is open to the public.
