DC Life magazine, a nationally recognized magazine has announced today that Arika Burton, Mrs. DC America 2012 has been selected as the cover model for their April issue.

District of Columbia / Free-Press-Release.com / March 29, 2012 — “Our magazine supports the efforts of the Mrs. DC America organization in its regards to recognizing women in the community who are making a difference. We choose Mrs. Arika Burton, the new Mrs. DC America 2012, as our cover because she exemplifies leadership, selfless service and of course beauty,” states Eugene Smith, Publisher of DC Life Magazine.
Arika Burton, a 28-year old financial consultant, was crowned on March 10, 2012 in front of a crowd of over 250 attendees at the Jack Morton Theatre in Washington, DC. Mrs. Burton will move on to represent DC at the Mrs. America pageant later this year.
The timing of the cover and article could not be better for Mrs. Burton, as April is financial literacy month. Her platform is financial literacy for high school kids and she is involved in the National Financial Educators Council to raise awareness and improve financial capabilities. Arika also has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland in both Finance and International Business. She has also completed the International Finance and European Union Study program in London, England.
Arika is married to Bradley Burton and they have been married for one and a half years.
The Mrs. DC America Pageant publicly recognizes beautiful married women, living and/or working within a 25-mile radius of Washington, DC, who have obtained personal, professional and community achievements. An official preliminary pageant to Mrs. America and Mrs. World, the Mrs. DC America Pageant welcomes women from all ethnic backgrounds to compete in a yearly pageant for the title of Mrs. DC America.
