Will Rebecca King Dreman’s Daughter Diana Follows in Her Mother’s Footsteps?
Pageant History will be made on January 14th, 2012 when Diana Dreman, the daughter of Miss America 1974, Rebecca King Dreman, becomes the first daughter of as Miss America to compete for the Miss America title. Diana, a University of Colorado at Boulder graduate, already made pageant history and followed in her mother’s footsteps when she won the Miss Colorado title on June 25th, 2012.
Dreman’s mother, Rebecca King, Miss Colorado 1973, made history, of sorts, as well as the first contestant to candidly admit that she had entered the pageant for scholarship money to attend law school. King went on to win the 1974 crown and became a respected titleholder, known for her intelligence and candor on political issues and feminism. Following her reign, King graduated from law school and became a prominent attorney in Denver. King eventually married banker Goerge Dreman, with whom she had two daughters.
