Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Elizabeth Fechtel Throws Opening Pitch for Tampa Bay Rays

     

Florida Native Elizabeth Fechtel, the new Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Supports her State’s Tampa Bay Rays

Elizabeth Fechtel, Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2012, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the September 24th Tampa Bay Rays game.

Tampa, FL- September 27, 2011- Elizabeth Fechtel, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2012, threw out  the ceremonial first pitch at the September 24th Tampa Bay Rays game at Tropicana Field against the Toronto Blue Jays.  Fechtel, a Florida native,  wearing her own pink Rays jersey lobbed an impressive pitch towards home plate. “I’m a Rays fan and it’s quite an honor to be chosen to throw out the pitch during a home game,” said Fechtel.

The Rays play tonight against the Yankees as they continue their quest for the last play-off spot in the American League.

Miss America’s Outstanding Teen promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens. In the past six years, the organization has made available more than $4 million in college scholarships.
