Winners Announced for the 23rd Annual Miss Asia USA and 7th Annual Mrs. Asia USA Pageants

A sellout crowd of over 1400 people at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center witnessed history in the making as the 23rd Annual Miss Asia USA and the 7th Annual Mrs. Asia USA Cultural Pageants were presented together onstage. Following months of painstaking preparation by each Delegate, what at first seemed impossible became a magnificent reality on August 20, 2011 with the crowning of two outstanding and deserving Queens.
After five categories of intense competition in both pageants, the distinguished panel of judges selected the stunning 20 year old, 5′ 10 Jacqueline Kim representing the Korea as Miss Asia USA 2011 and the lovely and talented 5’10, 28 years old Saltanat Kozhomberdieva representing Kyrgyzstan took the title of Mrs. Asia USA 2011, the statuesque 16 years old Meeghan Henry represented Indonesia took 3rd Runner Up for the Miss Asia USA is appointed to take on the role and title of Miss Teen Asia USA 2011. Virgelia Villegas, Chairman & President of the producer, Virgelia Productions, Inc., produced, wrote and directed the show.
When discussing the two new Queens after the show, Virgelia reflected on the Judges’ selection. She said, “Both Jacqueline and Saltanat were totally committed to performing at their best. Saltanat, Jacqueline and Meeghan, each of them worked extremely hard to demonstrate self-confidence, intelligence and elegance for the Judges and the audience when onstage and off stage. These outstanding and talented women did so and I am proud that they will serve all of the unique and proud Asian communities as Ambassadors of Goodwill and Culture. As our Queens, they will continue the proud tradition of these pageants demonstrating how to bring unity through diversity.”
Virgelia went on to say, “I am extremely pleased and proud of all of our wonderful Delegates and I offer them and their families my sincerest gratitude for their participation and hard work. Coordinating and directing two pageants at once on the same stage was incredibly challenging. Up until the last minute, I wasn’t sure we could pull it off. Thanks to the Delegates, our generous sponsors, our staff and our fantastic hosts, Emmy-nominee David Millbern and Jennifer Cho and Ayushka Gharib, if the audience’s reactions were any indication, we did it with flying colors.”
Virgelia also announced the Queen’s Court for Miss Asia USA 2011 and Mrs. Asia USA 2011 and the SPECIAL AWARDS:
