December 15, 2011 — Simone’s Airbrush Tanning announced today its sponsorship of Ms. Dustin Divelbiss for the Miss California USA 2012 competition. Simone’s Airbrush Tanning provides spray tanning in Los Angeles and the surrounding area. Last year the company sponsored Tessa Farrell in the same competition.
Simone Emmons, the owner of Simone’s Airbrush Tanning, said that, “I am sponsoring Ms. Divelbiss for the Miss California competition to help her show that people can get a great, flawless spray tan without having to spend hours sitting out in the sun.” Ms. Emmons is a well-known advocate of airbrush tanning due to the proven harmful effects of skin cancer causing tanning beds and direct sunlight.
Dustin Divelbiss grew up in the small town in Louisiana. She began acting in the theater at the age of twelve and never looked back. After graduating from Louisiana Tech University, she started acting in the film industry and moved to North Hollywood where she presently resides.
Ms. Emmons is excited to be sponsoring Divelbiss’ entry into the Miss California Competition. She stated that, “One of my favorite things about Dustin is that she and her sister, Kayla, started a girl’s mentoring organization, Vylit, Inc. which I am a strong advocate of. Teaching girls the important skills that will help them be successful in life is one of the most important ways people can help the next generation.”
Emmons is also happy that Divelbiss is a supporter of the airbrush tanning movement. With new laws set to be enacted in California at the start of the year, individuals under the age of 18 will be restricted from using tanning beds. Emmons asserts that by making spray tanning in Los Angeles more widely available, girls will be able to get the natural tan look without the risk of cancer. Emmons also said that, “Dustin and Kayla’s organization, Vylit, helps girls gain self-esteem, style, health and fitness. Airbrush tanning is a great way to help them achieve some of these goals as well.”
