Don’t Miss the 2012 Miss High School & Collegiate America Pageant
San Antonio, Texas – February 20, 2012 – Amanda Patterson, president and CEO of the Miss High School and Collegiate America Organization(MHSCA) announced today that the 2012 national pageant will be held at the Lila Cockrell Theater in beautiful downtown San Antonio on March 9 and 10, 2012. Joining the outstanding 104 contestants will be Summer Priester, Miss High School America 2011 and Shannon Folsom, Miss Collegiate America 2011.
The 2012 National Pageant will be aired LIVE on March 9-10, 2012 via webcast at 6:00PM CST. Preliminaries will be aired on Friday night…and Finals will follow Saturday night.
The Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America Pageant exist for the purpose of providing personal and profession opportunities for high school and collegiate women. This is a scholarship pageant for high school and college girls seeking to achieve their goals and personal growth, while providing a forum in which to express their beauty, opinions and intelligence. The pageant awards both national winners a $10,000 scholarship.
During their week in San Antonio, the contestants will visit: The Alamo, Sea World, The River Walk and many other city attractions.
Throughout the competition, each contestant representing the 50 United States plus the District of Columbia and Virgin Islands compete in three categories: fashion runway, evening gown and interview. Worldwide competitions are in the plans for 2013.
On March 7, the contestants will be signing autographs for the public at the Alamo. This is free and open to the public.
MHSCA will also sponsor their annual premier tradeshow to be held during the week of their national pageant at the Emily Morgan Hotel, which is open to the public. This year’s EXPO held March 9-10, 2012, offers attendees a complete marketplace of diverse resources for the pageant fans, jewelry, consultants, various clothing distributors and photographers. The perfect venue for exhibitors to showcase their services and products, EXPO will feature special guests such as current and former titleholders, Johnathon Kayne from Project Runway and national pageant coach and choreographer Kyle Haggerty.
During the course of their 2011 reign, Folsom and Priester traveled the US as advocates for the pageant’s official cause “The Crown C.A.R.E.S”, an anti-bullying program developed especially for the organization by author and anti-bullying expert Deb Landry.
