This year, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen is pleased to introduce a new partner in academic excellence. Hollins University will now be offering several scholarship opportunities to the contestants at this year’s Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition.
The university will provide a four-year renewable full tuition scholarship to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2013, as well as half tuition scholarships to contestants with a minimum 3.25 high school GPA and a minimum 24 ACT composite score or an 1100 total SAT score (math and reading only). Hollins will also be offering several $25,000 tuition scholarships to contestants with a minimum 3.75 GPA and a minimum 28 ACT composite score or 1250 total SAT score (math and reading only).
“As an all-women’s university, this partnership is a natural fit. Like MAOTeen, Hollins is dedicated to empowering young women to be the best that they can be. Hollins nurtures civility, integrity, and concern for others, encourages and values diversity and social justice, and affirms the equal worth of women and men. Our university motto, Levavi Oculos, calls us to leadership and service in accord with Hollins values and traditions,” said Hollins’ Director of Admissions, Nikki Williams.
Hollins University is an all-women’s independent liberal arts university located in Virginia. For more information on the university, please visit their website by clicking the MAOT website.
