Congratulations to Meagan Barnes, the new Mrs. Georgetown-DC America 2013
July 3, 2012- Washington, DC- Mrs. Georgetown-DC America 2013 has been selected to compete in the Mrs. DC American Pageant being held next March. Meagan Barnes, has been crowned the new titleholder, representing the historic Georgetown community.
Meagan is a 30-year old IT Consultant in the DC metro area. She is married to Isaac Barnes, Co-Founder of Eminent IT, and they have one son, Michael. She will compete in the Mrs. DC America Pageant 2013 with a platform focus of “Women’s Mental Health.” Meagan is the Founder of an online resource for women suffering from anxiety and panic disorders as well as a blogger for EmpowHER.com, an award-winning social health company for women.
Meagan is actively involved in the community. She hosts a bi-weekly support group where women can connect with other women and share their stories and journeys with anxiety and panic disorders. In October 2012, she will be hosting the 1st annual race, OutRun Anxiety 5K Run/Walk, to help raise awareness for women’s mental health issues.
Her hobbies include running, reading and spending quality time with her family.
The Mrs. DC America Pageant publicly recognizes beautiful married women, living and/or working within a 25-mile radius of Washington, DC, who have obtained personal, professional and community achievements. An official preliminary pageant to Mrs. America and Mrs. World, the Mrs. DC America Pageant welcomes women from all ethnic backgrounds to compete in a yearly pageant for the title of Mrs. DC America.
