Arika Burton, Mrs. DC America 2012 will make an appearance at the Virginia Gold Cup on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Washington, DC – The Virginia Gold Cup is a grand spring tradition as well as a fixture on the social calendar. Run in Fauquier County since 1922 and attended by over 50,000 spectators, this race is one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Race day features six hurdle and timber horses’ races, Jack Russell Terrier races, tent, tailgate and hat contests, and vendor booths for shopping.
Arika will meet and greet guest, take photos and assist in presenting trophies.
“It is essential that the Mrs. DC America organization supports the surrounding DC community efforts such as the Virginia Gold Cup as a way to build synergy in the community to preserve the Great Meadow’s open space,” states Randi Dorsey, the Sponsorship Coordinator for Mrs. DC America.
The Mrs. DC America Pageant publicly recognizes beautiful married women, living and/or working within a 25-mile radius of Washington, DC, who have obtained personal, professional and community achievements. An official preliminary pageant to Mrs. America and Mrs. World, the Mrs. DC America Pageant welcomes women from all ethnic backgrounds to compete in a yearly pageant for the title of Mrs. DC America.
