On Friday August 29, 2013 the BVI Tourist Board in partnership with Bamboushay (a member of its VIP program) donated a three-of-a-kind Marine Vase to Miss World British Virgin Islands.
The Marine Vase is a unique collector’s piece designed originally for an owner of one of the British Virgin Islands’ private islands.
The piece which is reflective of the deep ocean and its corals can also be seen in the office of the Premier of the British Virgin Islands. But now, the third of its kind collector’s vase will go to a lucky individual who must be the highest bidder at the2013 Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Auction in Indonesia.
This beautiful and locally made exquisite vase will be donated on behalf of the British Virgin Islands to the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Program, to be auctioned off in an effort to raise funds for charity.
Beauty with a Purpose was created by Julia Morley, head of the Miss World Organization in 1972.
Since then, Hundreds of millions of dollars have been raised and donated to local and international organizations in aid of disadvantaged children around the world.
Miss World British Virgin Islands Kirtis Kassandra Malone handpicked the piece which she says caught her attention the moment she walked into Bamboushay; “It just stood out to me, its design, the whole look. I am thankful that the BVI Tourist Board has such a wonderful relationship with local artisans that they were able to arrange for me to have such a remarkable item to donate on behalf of my home (BVI).”
Miss Malone is also grateful to Bamboushay for their willingness to donate the meticulously made piece to this worthy cause.
Bamboushay is a locally owned business dedicated to promoting art and culture in the Virgin Islands.
Bamboushay also promotes art, history, music and culture in its Bamboushay Lounge setting and offers patrons an opportunity to experience the raw culture of arts through Bamboushay Pottery and the social elements through the Bamboushay Lounge.
Additionally, the afternoon proved to be a busy one for Miss Malone who was whisked off to Delta Petroleum to collect a sponsorship check. The check was presented by Mr. Bevis Sylvester – Regional General Manager of Delta Petroleum.
Delta is pleased to partner with the Miss World BVI Organization as they continue in their effort to give back and invest in the lives of young and promising Virgin Islanders.
The petroleum giant has been diligently serving the BVI community some 28 years now and has continued to invest in various ways; in the youth, environment and cultural festivities throughout the territory.
Bamboushay and Delta have joined the list of local businesses and government officials who have stepped up to support the prestigious Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Program, which has been reintroduced to the territory after 12 years.
Additional information on sponsors can be found on their website at www.missworldbvi.com.
