Mpule Kwelagobe waves to an audience of millions of viewers around the world as she becomes the 48th woman to wear the prestigious MISS UNIVERSE crown May 26, from Trinidad and Tobago. Hailing from Botswana, the 19 year old, 5′ 10″ with brown eyes, and dark brown hair begins her year as the most beautiful woman in the Universe.

Mpule Kwelagobe, MISS BOTSWANA 1999 is one of the Top 10 Delegates competing for the Title of Miss Universe 1999. Oscar de la Renta Swimwear will award the winner of the Oscar de la Renta Swimsuit Competition with a $5,000 modeling contract, award Miss Universe with a $10,000 scholarship, and will award the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up with $3,000 and $2,000 scholarships, respectively.
