Miss America 2012 to visit New York City in April
Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler will be in New York City April 19 from Noon – 12:30 p.m. to participate in Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup NYC kickoff event. Laura will be on stage in Military Square with members of Keep America Beautiful, Keep New York City Beautiful and several city department officials to celebrate and recognize National Volunteer Week and remind the City of New York the importance of cleaning, greening, recycling and volunteering.
This event spotlights the city’s role in the Great American Cleanup, which mobilizes millions of volunteers for over 30,000 community improvement events in all 50 states. It also celebrates citywide sustainability efforts and partnerships that make New York City cleaner, greener, and more beautiful throughout the year. A national award will be presented to an outstanding volunteer, recognizing their service and commitment to the city’s environment.
Tonight, Laura will be singing the National Anthem at Yankees Stadium before the New York Yankees vs. the Minnesota Twins MLB game.
