Signups are underway for the 4th Annual Potato Pageant, a signature event of Bunnell’s Potato Festival. The pageant is set for Saturday, May 19 at 10AM at old Bunnell City Hall. The annual festival celebrates Bunnell’s agricultural roots.
Apr 26, 2012 – Signups are underway for the Fourth Annual Potato Pageant, a signature event during Bunnell’s Potato Festival. The pageant is scheduled for Saturday, May 19 starting at 10AM at old Bunnell City Hall. The annual Potato Festival, hosted by the City of Bunnell, City of Bunnell Community Redevelopment Agency and Bunnell Chamber of Commerce, celebrates Bunnell’s agricultural roots while offering a day of inexpensive fun for the entire family.
Children between 1 and 10 years are welcome to enter the pageant in the following age categories: Tater Tot (ages 1-3), Potato Princess (ages 4-7) and Miss Potato (ages 8-10). The entry fee per child is $10, and each contestant will leave with a participation award and gift bag of items donated by sponsors. First place winners in the Potato Princess and Miss Potato categories will receive a trophy, sash, tiara and $50 gift card. Prizes and support has been provided by several local sponsors, including the Sew & Quilt Shop, Nature Scapes, High Jackers and Edible Arrangements.
All contestants will be assigned to age groups, come on stage one at a time, turn in the center of the stage and smile. Miss Potato and Potato Princess contestants will answer an interview question.
Applications and entry forms are available at the Chamber or online at www.flaglerchamber.org. Forms must be completed and returned to the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce no later than 5PM, Friday, May 11. For more information, please call 386.437.0106.
