The Georgia Miss Amazing Pageant was held on June 8-9, 2012 in Georgia, with a number of amazing young women and girls winning the titles. Sixteen girls participated and every girl was a winner, winning their very own crown and trophy but only one girl could be a winner from each category.
Our 2012 Georgia Miss Amazing winners were:
- Rising Star (ages 5-9) Rebecca Bozeman
- PreTeen (ages 10-12) McKenzie Michelle Carey
- Junior Teen (ages 13-15) Destiney Parmer
- Teen (ages 16-19) ShaRhonda Proctor
- Junior Miss (ages 20-23) Krystin Gilbert
- Senior Miss (ages 28-35) Rene Wilbanks
- *there were no contestants for Miss (ages 24-27)
Additionally we collected just over 100 cans of food for our Food Drive benefitting Helping Hands of Paulding County. Presenting these items to Helping Hands will be one of the winner’s first public appearances. The date will be announced shortly.
The purpose of our pageant is to help raise confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment, and the transformation of these girls the very first day was apparent, but even more so overnight. When they arrived Friday, most of our young ladies were were shy, reserved and some would not even smile or look us in the eye. But after being empowered to choose their Buddy for the next two days and hearing encouraging words from their buddies and other volunteers that worked with them, by Friday evening every girl got up on stage and performed in the talent show.
By Saturday morning you could see their confidence improve and by the time the pageant started at 7:00 pm Saturday, they strutted their new found confidence on stage, winning the hearts of not only their parents, but others in the audience. You can see their confidence shining through in the photo!
Not only the girls did the girls have a blast, but so did the parents and our volunteers. Many friendships were made, some will be forever! After the pageant, I had many people come up to me and say they were ordering extra trophies and crowns for us or donating used ones to us for our next pageant. But most importantly, were the hugs we got from our amazing contestants after the show! Many say they will return again next year. That is great news!!
This is such a worthwhile pageant because first and foremost, its all about the girls but secondly, we as volunteers get so much in return in a really good heartfelt good feeling! And, finally we give back to the community by means of our food drive and donating our net profit to a charity of our choice. This year’s charity is MDA, Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Thank you for your support and encouraging words when we first posted our information. We will remember you always and plan to post future pageant dates on your website! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!
