“As citizens of the United States, we have a responsibility to speak out on issues that are prevalent today – and the federal deficit is one. There are other issues that are prevalent today. “I have mixed emotions about that issue. I feel sorry for anyone who believes that their home has been taken away from them. I feel sorry for them. I would like to see that reconciled – whatever it would take to reconcile that.” — Cheryl Prewitt, Miss America

Every country is so different and we can’t lump all of South America into one big package. Each country is unique, individual. We have to consider them as such. When it comes to an overall foreign policy, I would like to see support politically and economically to help with their infrastructure. They need that kind of help to get that cycle going, get the educational and economic level up. But when it comes to our military, I would prefer to see us OUT of those countries.” — Sharlene Wells, Miss America

Then again, I’ve read other things at this point, that I also tend to agree that maybe there should be a treaty. I’m going to wait until I read more about it.” — Susan Perkins, Miss America
