Marjorie Vincent, Miss Illinois, won the 1991 Miss America Pageant held in September 1990 in Atlantic City. Popular talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford are hired as the new as co-hosts of the Miss America Pageant, making Gifford the first woman to serve as a full-fledged co-host of the competition. She played Chopin on the piano to win the talent competition.
The platform she has chosen to address if selected the winner is Domestic Violence. Rumors have it that Miss Illinois has also nailed the private interviews with judges earlier in the week, where her background as a law student would have served her well.
Vincent returns to crown her successor, Carolyn Sapp Miss America 1992, Miss Hawaii.
She later completed her law degree, married, and has a son. She also used the opportunities and connections provided by her reign to become a television news anchor for a time.
