Frances Burke, Miss Philadelphia, won the 1940 Miss America title and went on to become a well known model. She was crowned by her predecessor, Patricia Donnelly Miss America 1939.
In the talent competition, she performed a song and dance routine to “I Can’t Love You Anymore.”
After her reign, Frances became a well known fashion model throughout the east. She married Lawrence Kenney, a funeral supply firm owner, with whom she had four children. Later in life, she took up ice-dancing for fun.
